Aloha and mahalo nui for visiting my website. My name is Beatrix Sullivan. Most people call me Trixi or Trix.
Me and my website, trainingtrix.com, are here to help you achieve your fitness and health goals. I believe that we feel better emotionally and perform better mentally when we are feeling good physically, so we might as well do our best to feel our best. The reason I care is that as we all know, we're all connected. How you feel affects everyone; your family, your friends, and your community, which includes me.
My approach to training is "old-school", with a focus on free-weights and machines for targeted phasic muscle building and bodyweight exercises, Pilates, and "functional movement" for improving core strength, stabilizers, balance, and agility. I also have a background in dance and use "barre" exercises for those who are interested.
My philosophy regarding training is "new-school", with a focus on the body/mind connection. I believe that to experience the feeling of optimal well-being in the mind we need to be feeling optimal well-being in the body. I know many "tricks" (based on science) to help you achieve this goal, that's why people sometimes call me "Training Trix".
I believe I was born to train. In college, I majored in Physical Education and began my career in fitness. Since moving to Maui in 2008, I became a Pilates and Group Excercise Instructor in addition to already being a Personal Trainer. I also focused on meeting the needs of certain "special populations", golfers, and people over fifty in particular. I have competed in four bodybuilding competitions including the Paradise Cup in the Masters Figure Division.
